Happy New Year people!

Had a good Christmas. Loved the two weeks off from work. It's one of the really great things about being a teacher... the time off for summer and espc the Holiday Season, Thanksgiving - Christmas.

First of let me say I'm loving it the the SW:OT has *finally* made it onto dvd. It's about time!

I've been a Star Wars fanatic fan ever since the original SW was released in theaters. I faithfully stood in line in 1980 for The Empire Strikes Back and then in 1983 for Return of the Jedi.( Jedi musings )

I had pretty much every SW toy they ever made from 1978 to 1984. Later it was video games and then the Expanded Universe that took place post-Jedi in the novels (which gave me my first SW 'ship....). ( My SW 'Ship )

I picked up the OT at FYE for $34.99 plus tax! Great deal to start of an awesome few days!

I came home Tuesday afternoon and immediatly popped in A New Hope. Let me say... It looked incredible! The clean-up and transfer were fantastic. I swear it looks better or as good as Eps. I and II.
Jabba looks much better here than he did in the SE.

In TESB everything looks equally sharp and crisp. I love the two "big changes" GL made here. Ian McDiarmid kicks ass as The Emperor. I love the re-done Emperor Hologram scene. It fits in perfectly, even the new dialouge they added for IM and JEJ as Palpatine and Vader. I also love that they re-recorded all of Boba Fett's lines with Temeura Morrison (Jango from AotC). That bit of added continuity is great.

Jedi looks fantastic too. They erased all of the matte lines that were visible before. RotJ also had the most "controversial" of the dvd changes... Replacing Sebastian Shaw with Hayden Christianson as Anakin in the "ghost" scene at the end of the movie. It looks great, I just don't quite buy Lucas' explanation for why that change was made. ( Lucasian Logic ) But hey... it's George afterall and not that big a deal imo. I stll throughly enjoyed it all.

The Special Features stuff is great too, especially the "Empire of Dreams" and "Return of Darth Vader" featurettes.

This dvd set has made me a fan again.... Not that I ever stopped *lol* ... But I've rediscovered that childhood love that I had for this story and these movies.

I give this set a "Four Lightsaber" rating! *bg*

Wow. Long time, no post.

Ok. It's Draft day on ESPN. I'm a long time draftnik...love it. The drama, the trades, the crowd reaction in NY...lol. Of course my primary interest is in seeing who the 'Boys are going to draft. How bad is Jerry Jones going to fuck it up? Can Parcells stop JJ's insanity? In my opinion the Cowboys number one need is running back. Troy Hambrick is a fucking joke. He's not a starter. I personally hope Steven Jackson from Oregan St. is still there when the Cowboys pick, but I know he won't be. Most people have him going to the Bucs. My (and the Cowboys) second choice is Kevin Jones from Va. Tech. We shall see how it goes.

It was right there. Jackson fell right into their lap! But they trade out of the first round to pick up a second round pick and a fifth round pick this year and Buffalo's first round next year. WHAT THE FUCK???????? Not only has Jones fucked Dallas out of the best back in the draft, but also the second best back. Neither Jackson nor Kevin Jones will be there in the second round when the Cowboys pick next. But Jones has to prove he's the "master trader". Fuck him. Fuck him straight to Hell.
